My Pooch-kie

This morning we're gonna take Judah in to be checked for Autism as he'll be 3 in June and basically just says the first syllable in a word. Such as "Wa" for water and "ba" for ball "A" for Aidan ect, ect. The only word that he says clearly and quite often actually is, "No" LOL! Must be his favorite word.
Some ppl have suggested that we get him checked and I personally, though I don't think it's Autism always follow the saying "better safe than sorry". Might be something different but it's better to nip it in the butt (I like to say butt over "bud" because I'm cool like that) while he's young.
;)There are a couple other things as well but I think it's hard to discern what's "Toddler behavior" and Autism. I guess it's Toddler behavior to the extreme???

Well, I'll leave it to the specialists.

I guess I'll be given some pointers and advice on how I can help him which I would be most thankful for as my knowledge on the subject only goes so far...

Yeah, it doesn't really go that far at all.
I'm quick to think that it's my fault some how...:( But, I won't say anything until I know exactly what "it" is.

Anywho, I shall keep you updated.

Awwww Judah's so handsome!

Love him with me!!! LOL!

Aw, sweet Judah. I am sure it isn't autism, but it's always a nice reassurance knowing that well, maybe he just doesn't feel like talking and that's it. Heh!
Tom didn't talk till he was three either. Anyhow, praying for u and for sure it will all be ok.

Love you Steph,
Judah is the cutest thing, no matter what!!
Mac's mom said he never said much 'til he was past 3 as well, he was shy or something.
I swear I understood Judah asking for food & stuff when I was there. -Anyway, it's always reassuring to get things checked out, I'll be praying they (docs)will do a thorough job & not just guess with something so important. Always get 2 opinions.

Hi Steph. I am living with a mom here who's son is allergic to wheat/dairy/nuts just about everything. Anyways, if he eats it he acts autistic. I never heard that before. Anyways, praying for you and don't you dare think that it is because of you. It's not true. Don't go there.

Awwww, sweet thanks Hanna, Aimee, Brit,Paula and Lani! Thanks for the support and prayers. I had to put all your names there because... Well, I just wanted to! ;)

"It's not autism ( I didn't think it was) but I'm happy that I got it checked just in case because..."better safe than sorry".

He has speech therapy scheduled for tomorrow morning. He talks at a 15-18 month old level :( so he's behind in that area but advanced in others.Either way he's still my Pooch!

Thanks again LY!

And Paula, I never heard of that before! Interesting and good to know! I feel I could've done more as a mother....But I'll learn from my mistakes. :)-xxx

That's good news, Steph. Am sure the therapy will help him, and now you don't have to wonder anymore if/what/when/how. Please don't feel bad or ever blame yourself, you didn't choose that for him, it's just what happened and you had no influence on it. He is a sweet little boy, and I promise you that when he is big and grown up you will barely even remember this time, your current worries will seem like a distant dream.
Take care now, ya hear?

Steph your doing a great job under difficult circumstances...it hard having 2 so close together. I think it shows how concerned you are that you actully looked into that.
And it is sooo cool that he is gonna get some speach therapy! alot may have to do with a second sibling coming along...but he may enjoy having this one thing all to himself:)
